Rotarian of the Year

Douglas Vinnicombe Douglas has been a huge support this year and willingly carried out anything that was asked of him. He has spent 2 years as Vocational Director and executed his position with gusto. He is a dedicated family man whose family is a high priority. The social life of the club has been enhanced. We have been to interesting places and treated to his fine culinary skills, Douglas has embraced Rotary and has no hesitation in happily volunteering his time to the Club. |

A lovely time was had by all at the Rose Hotel on 21st September. The club used to meet at this venue many years prior. Thank you to everyone who attended to help us celebrate - we look forward to many more fruitful years.
Barry Johnston shared some history, Eric Turner talked about Bunbury Central merging with us, and President Michelle Piotrowski looked towards the future of the club. Pam Thornton was the latest recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow for her work in spreading musical wisdom to children. The late Malcolm Prichard was recognised for his contribution to the club. |
We honoured Graham Herring and Ross Ranson with Sapphire pins (an upgrade to their Paul Harris Fellow awards). Max Bird proposed a toast to Rotary International and Barry House highlighted some of our club's achievements before toasting to our continued success. Well done to Margaret Robertson and her team for making the night an outstanding success! |
A special thanks to Rotarian Tony Mibus for the wonderful photos below.
WORDS OF WISDOM FROM PAUL HARRIS (as mentioned in our President's speech)
May all things you ought have be yours.
May you not fall into the popular error of thinking that happiness is to be found in outdoing your neighbours.
May it always be yours to look beneath the veneer of life to the solid substance which lies beneath.
May you be builders, not mere climbers.
May you be able to appraise life's blessings at their real worth.
May you be free to act in accordance with the dictates of your own conscience and good judgment.
May you not be slaves to meaningless customs, social or otherwise.
May you shun the groove followers.
May you have vision to discern what is right, and the health, strength and will to do it.
